Day 3 - Another great day at the Hatchery

After Breakfast and coffee, we headed to the Hatchery - around 10:00. We found the parking lot overflowing - and many people were already coming off the water.... Had we missed it.
It sure looked like it, and arguably we may have missed the best session of the day. The wind appeared light and gusty for a few hours, but from 2:00 on it was blasting. Sails ranged from 3.7 (Harold), to 4.2's most of us, 4.6 Mike, 4.7 Blaine (should have been 4.2, but he was too lazy to change), and Ted on 4.8. We sailed until after 5 - and had to quite even though it was still blowing. People were still showing up and rigging small gear as we were leaving. We just didn't have anything left....

Everyone complains that there are always too many photos of Ross. Of course that is because he always sails in front of my Camera. I can't take photos of people who sail across the river.....
Anyway, Kent noticed how much Ross concentrates on his sailing. Whatever he is doing, it is working. There are a few of us talking about trying the puffer technique as we go into our jibes - maybe it works.....
Blaine has a new look. His daughter Lauren spruced up his hair cut. After a few beers we convinced him to add an ear plug. We aren't sure about all of this - but his sailing seems to have improved, so maybe it works......

Mike thinks thinks it's great!

Ross isn't so sure.....

Ross - showing off!

Harold (My hero) was on the water longer than anyone - except maybe JimS

Jim had an adventure. On the other side of the river, his mast separated from his board. He floated in the water for almost an hour trying to put it together. Various rescue attempts by the "boys" failed... but finally some local came by and was able to get it back together.
Note to self - double check the mast foot before going out on the river......
Jim was a bit cold, but otherwise OK. A few minutes in the sun, and a short snooze in the van, and he was back in the water....
